  • Welcome to the Health Office!

My name is Kim Ryan and I am in the health office from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm M-Thursday's and 9:00 am to 1:30 pm on Friday's.

Please call 497-3887 extension 516 with any questions or concerns.

  • Ill Students:   Parents and students are frequently unsure about when a student should stay home from school due to an illness. The following is a guide to assist you with your decision.
  • If your child is home ill, please call the school at (763) 497-3887. Please provide the child’s name, grade, teacher and detailed symptoms of the illness. Communicable illness such as strep throat, influenza like illness, and pink eye are tracked throughout the school.  A more detailed guide entitled “Common Childhood Illness” is available for you to view on this web site.

                - A fever of 100.0 degrees F or higher. The student should stay home for 24 hours after the temperature returns to normal without fever reducing medication (like Tylenol or Ibuprofen).
                - Vomiting or diarrhea: The student should stay home for 24 hours after the last episode.
                - Rash that is associated with fever or behavior change should be evaluated by a physician.

                - Strep throat: Please consult with your physician. If your child has been diagnosed with strep throat, he/she cannot return to school until at least 24 hours after treatment has been initiated. If your child has a negative quick strep test, it is recommended that you keep him/her home until you receive the results of the 24 hour culture.

  • Injury or illness during the school day:   When a student becomes injured or ill during the school day, an attempt is made to contact the parents. If the parent is unavailable, the secondary contact will be notified. Please keep phone numbers up to date and notify the school office and health office of any changes. Your child will be requested to return home if they have any fever greater than 100.0 F, vomiting/diarrhea, and or any other significant change in their health status.

  • Vision and hearing screening:    Are complete!  Initial screening was done Oct 5th, 2009 and the re-screen evaluations were done Jan. 7th, 2010.  If you have any questions regarding your child's results please call the health office.  If you decline any hearing or vision screening for your child please notify the nurse.  Vision and hearing screening are done every fall for grades K- 5. If there are specific concerns for your child, you will receive a letter or phone call from the health office. This will inform you of the results of the screening, and suggest further evaluation.  If at any time if you would like to request an extra individual screening done for your student please notify the health office; I would be happy to assist you with your concerns!
